PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania track & field programs hosted their second meet of the season on Saturday afternoon, collecting 15 first-place finishes in the Big 5 Meet led by a program-record performance by senior captain Camille Dickson.
Dickson competed in two events for the day, taking first place in the 200m dash with a time of 24.32, setting a personal best that holds her at ninth in program history. The highlight of her day was her first two attempts in the long jump, breaking the program record twice. With the record set at 6.10 back in 2010 by Kathryn Gevitz, Dickson eclipsed that with a first jump of 6.12. She followed it up with an even better jump on her second attempt, setting the new bar at 6.21 (20' 4 1/2") while taking first in the event. Dickson, in two meets, has totaled four first-place finishes and a second.
Â
Dickson was joined on the women's side by Grace O'Shea, Haley Rizek, Laura Baeyens, Ashley Anumba, Addie Renner, and Tamara Grahovac, who all earned a first place in their respective events.
O'Shea set a new personal record in the 100m hurdles, clocking a time of 14.21. Rizek also set a personal best in the 400m hurdles, coming through for a time of 1:02.18. Baeyens earned her first place in the 1,500m, edging out teammate Alyssa Condell by less than a second with a personal-record time of 4:39.76. Anumba threw the discus for the first time this season, an event she holds the program record in, tossing 52.50m. Renner bested her second-place mark of 1.70m in the high jump last Saturday with a first-place mark of 1.75m. Grahovac closed the day with another strong showing in the triple jump, landing at 12.19m.
On the men's side, the team collected seven top finishes, each won by a different Quaker.
Out at the Mondschein Throwing Complex,
Ben Kioko and
Olatide Abinusawa each registered their second-straight victories in their respective events. Kioko started the day off with a first-place finish in the javelin, setting a personal-best distance of 61.40m. Abinusawa bested his result from last week's meet in the shot put, landing at 14.96m.

Justin Cornetta put on a show in the 800m, turning the jets on in the final turn of the race to edge out St. Joseph's John Walker who was leading much of the race. Lee won the race with a time of 1:52.54, while Cornetta followed right behind at 1:52.73. Dagane earned his victory in the 1,500m, clocking a personal-record time of 3:50.84.
