Justin Watson W’18 Wins Super Bowl LV With Tampa Bay

PHILADELPHIA – It was an historic weekend for University of Pennsylvania football alums in the National Football League. On Sunday evening, Justin Watson W'18 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won Super Bowl LV with a 31-9 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

He becomes the second former Penn football player to earn a Super Bowl ring, joining Jim Finn W'99. Finn won Super Bowl XLII as a member of the New York Giants. Justin Tuck earned his MBA from Wharton after winning a pair of Super Bowls with the New York Giants.

Watson appeared in 11 games and made two starts for Tampa Bay during this, his third season in the NFL. He finished the regular season with seven catches for 94 yards and was also a mainstay on the Bucs' special-teams unit.

On November 15, Watson became the first offensive player in franchise history to record a sack as he helped thwart a fake punt. As a gunner, he finished the year with seven tackles in punt coverage.

Justin Watson was selected in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Buccaneers.

A STATS FCS first-team All-American and AP third-team All-American in 2017, Watson graduated as a five-time All-American over the course of his career and the holder of four career Penn Football records and three single-season Penn team records.

A three-time unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection, Watson set Ivy League records for consecutive games with a reception (40), consecutive games with a touchdown catch (10) and career 1,000-yard seasons (3) while representing the Red and Blue.
