Penn-Stony Brook Series
Penn and Stony Brook are meeting for the third time in program history on Friday, splitting the series with each team winning on its home court. The first matchup was on December 28, 2000 in The Palestra, as the Quakers earned a hard-fought 12-point victory, 68-56. Penn's all-time leading scorer was the star in the game, recording her seventh consecutive double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to help the Quakers to their second win of the 2000-01 season.

Last Time We Met
The second and last meeting between the two squads was on November 30, 2001 in New York, with the Seawolves taking the 77-56 decision in the opening round of the Holiday Inn Express Invitational. Penn's Karen Habrukowich led the Quakers with 18 points while Julie Epton added 17.

About Stony Brook
The Seawolves are riding a 7-1 record this season, including a 3-0 tally in Island Federal Arena. Their only loss came in their last outing on Thursday last week at Fordham, 71-59. The Rams used a 21-14 first quarter to pull a lead that wouldn't falter the rest of the way, although Stony Brook hung around much of the game. Earlette Scott paced the Seawolves with 24 points on 10-for-16 shooting. Stony Brook has five players averaging double figures in scoring through eight games led by Gigi Gonzalez at 13.6 point per game. They are averaging 71 points per game at a .428 shooting clip, while holding opponents to 59.5.

Penn's Last Time Out
The Quakers battled Saint Joseph's in a Big 5 matchup at The Palestra on Tuesday night, dropping an 83-70 decision. Penn erased an early deficit to the Hawks with an 11-5 run to close out the first quarter and following with a 25-13 second. However, a fourth-quarter push by SJU put the Hawks in the driver's seat in the closing minutes to take the Big 5 victory. Junior captain Kayla Padilla dropped her second 30-plus performance, registering 31 points on 10-for-20 shooting with five three-pointers.

Another Milestone For McLaughlin
Head coach Mike McLaughlin has coached for 26 seasons and on Tuesday he coached his 800th collegiate game between his time with Penn and Holy Family. With a 610-190 record, he sports a .763 winning percentage. He ranks ninth in winningest active coaches by percentage and 17th by victories. All-time in Division I women's basketball history, he ranks as the 10th best in winning percentage.

Let It Rain
The Quakers currently rank third in the Ivy League in three-pointers made with 69. Padilla has scored 25 of those, placing her second in the league and 25th in the country. She only sits behind Columbia's Abbey Hsu who has recorded 36. The only difference is Hsu has done it through 10 games, while Padilla has reached her number in six games. Seniors Mia Lakstigala and Nikola Kovacikova have each added 13 three-pointers for the Quakers. Kovacikova is shooting at an impressive .500 clip from beyond the arc to lead the team in the category, and Padilla is close behind at .455.
