Wrestling Hosts No. 2 Penn State on Friday Night

PHILADELPHIA – Penn Wrestling will host #2 Penn State on Friday night at The Palestra. Friday night's dual meet between the Quakers and the Nittany Lions will be the first dual meet of the 2021-22 season for Penn.

Penn State won the last meeting between the two programs. The Nittany Lions took a 33-7 victory in State College in 2019. Prior to the 2019 meeting, the #25 Quakers defeated the #24 Nittany Lions 20-13 in 2009 at Penn State. Penn's last victory against Penn State at The Palestra was a 22-14 win in January of 2003.

Penn is coming off a tremendous showing at the 26th Annual Keystone Classic: Presented by Herrington Financial claiming the team title as well as titles at 133, 141, 197, and 285 pounds.

* For the 2021-22 season, Roger Reina has named Carmen Ferrante, Doug Zapf, and Ben Goldin as captains for the #TheMovement.  
* Nine Quakers earned national recognition following Penn's first place finish at the 2021 Keystone Classic: Presented by Herrington Financial. Miller (125), Colaiocco (133), Ferrante (141), Artalona (149), Zapf (157), Revano (165), Incontrera (174), Urbas (197), Goldin (285) all earned national rankings.
*Ferrante placed at the 2020 EIWA's for the second straight year.
