Penn-King's Series
This is the second meeting between the Quakers and Monarchs, with the first time being on December 31, 2014 in The Palestra.

Last Time We Met
The first meeting in 2014 saw a playing time for the full Quaker squad, as Penn took the 85-20 decision. The 65-point win margin remains a program record. In the contest, 13 different Quakers scored led by 10-point performances by Sydney Stipanovich, Kathleen Roche, and Michelle Nwokedi.

About King's
The Monarchs are a Division III institution in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Led by six-year head coach Caitlin Hadzimichalis, King's has opened the season with back-to-back wins over Gwynedd Mercy and Penn College. In the win over the Griffins, the Monarchs dropped 112 points in a combined 215 point shootout. Samantha Rajza and Emily Morano are both averaging over 20 points per game.

Penn's Last Time Out
The Quakers competed for the first time in 617 days on Sunday, defeating Hartford on the road, 85-42. With the win, head coach Mike McLaughlin earned his 200th win at the helm of the Penn program. Junior captain Kayla Padilla led the offense with a game-high 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting including four three-pointers. The Quakers scored 54 points by halftime, just three points shy of a program record for points in a half, set in 2019 against Siena with 57.

Padilla Unleashed
The Torrance, California native picked up right where she left off from her rookie season in 2019-20, dropping 22 points on Sunday. It was the 13th time in her 28 collegiate games with 20-plus points. Additionally, she shot at a .727 clip, the second highest mark in her collegiate career. Beyond her scoring abilities, her stat line against the Hawks was as well-rounded as it can be, pulling five rebounds, dishing out four assists, making three blocks, and registering one steal. Her efforts earned her Big 5 Player of the Week honors on Monday, the second time in her career.
