The Series with Columbia
The Lions hold a 34-33-6 lead in the all-time series on the strength of a 7-0-2 mark over the last nine matches. The Quakers are seeking their first win since 2011 after going 6-2 in the eight contests between 2004 and 2011. In the most recent matchup in 2019, each team scored in the opening 11 minutes, then went scoreless over the next 99 in a 1-1 draw.
About Columbia
The Lions enter Saturday evening on a four-match losing streak and winless in their last six overall following a 3-1 loss on the road against Hofstra Tuesday night. The team's lone win of the season came in the opener against George Washington, 2-0. The team has scored just three goals in the eight matches since.
Ryan Kipness and Jake Novoshelski lead the team with three points apiece, ranking second (11) and third (eight) on the team in shots, respectively; Sebastian Gunbeyi leads the team with 16 attempts.
Michael Collodi has started eight of the team's nine matches in net, posting six full matches allowing one goal or fewer, including a shutout in the season-opening win over George Washington, and a September 18 scoreless draw with Long Island University (LIU).
As a team, Columbia ranks second among Ivy teams in saves (43) and save percentage (.811). Individually, Collodi leads the conference with a goals-against average of 0.907, the only keeper in the conference with a goals-against average under 1.000; Collodi also leads the conference in save percentage (0.844).

*The Quakers dropped their Ivy League opener to Cornell last Saturday, 3-0. Seniors
Matt Leigh and
Ben Stitz led the Quakers with one shot on goal each. Senior
Brendan Hanrahan played all 90 minutes in his first start of the season.
*As a team, Penn ranks second in the Ivy League in goals per match (1.875) and scoring margin (+.50).
*The Quakers have been whistled for just 8.25 fouls per match and are the only team in the conference averaging fewer than 10.75 fouls called per contest.
*Individually, Stitz (1.25), Leigh (1.13), and
Joey Bhangdia (1.00) rank fourth, seventh, and ninth, respectively, in the conference in points per match.
*Fast starts have become a common trend for the Quakers this season, as they've struck first in six of their eight matches, tops in the conference.
