PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team hosted the 2021 ITA Northeast Regional this weekend, with freshman
Sabine Rutlauka and junior
Amanda Chan advancing as a doubles team to the Super-Regional which will take place at Princeton from October 15-18. Heading into the final day of play at Penn, the Quakers had two doubles teams and one singles player (freshman
Gavriella Smith) looking to advance to the Super-Regional.
Rutlauka and Chan were the number four seed for doubles, earning a first-round bye before defeating Lehigh's Buchinsky and Javagal, 8-2 (10). Next up, they defeated the 13th-seeded Cornell duo of Mi and Wong of, 8-0. The Quakers duo then earned their spot in the Super-Regional by defeating Buffalo's Schwarz and Antoniou, 8-5.
