The Series with Brown
Saturday's meeting between the Quakers and the Bears will be the 30th match in the series history. The overall record is very tight as Penn holds a slight advantage, 13-12-4. The last meeting between the two teams saw Brown take a 1-0 win at home in 2019. In double overtime, Brown's Abby Carchio took a penalty kick and scored for the game-winning goal in the 110th minute.
About Brown
Brown currently holds a three-point lead in the Ivy League standings with two matches to play. With a win on Saturday the Bears would clinch a share of the 2021 Ivy League title. Brown has four players with double-digit point totals as Brittany Raphino (8g,5a) and Ava Seelenfreund (7g,2a) lead the team with 21 and 16 points, respectively. Maesyn G'Bye (3g,5a) and Zoe Maxwell's 10 points (2g,6a) round out the double-digit scorers, with Maxwell's six assists leading the team with six assists.

Casey Brown, in her first season coaching the Quakers. The Red and Blue have taken 27 points from 27, going 9-0-0.

Isobel Glass was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday, following her three goals in two matches last week. Overall, the freshman has recorded four goals across Penn's last three matches. This is her first weekly honor and Penn's third in 2021. Sophomore
Lauren Teuschl was named Player of the Week on Sept. 20 and
Janae Stewart was named Rookie of the Week last week.
*In last Saturday's 4-0 win against Yale, junior
Sizzy Lawton had two goals in the match while Glass and
Mia Shenk had the other two goals for the Quakers.
Emily Pringle had assists on two of the goals.
*Sophomore goalkeeper
Laurence Gladu made seven saves in the win to post her fifth shutout of the season. Her season total 67 saves leads the Ivy League.
*Shenk (6g,3a) leads the Quakers offense with 15 points. Teuschl (3g,7a) and Lawton (3g,7a) both have recorded 13 points. Stewart (3g,4a) rounds out the scorers with double-digit points. Glass has nine points. Senior
Jackie Bruder and Kenton have two goals each.
*Penn's other goal scorers this season are seniors
Abbey Duncan (at Maryland) and
Lucy Kellogg (Dartmouth), juniors Pringle (Cornell) and Farman, and sophomores
Madison Liebman (at Hofstra) and
Ginger Fontenot (at Temple).
*Penn named three captains for the 2021 season prior to the opener. Senior
JoJo Cotto and juniors Pringle and
Peyton Raun lead the Quakers.
*Raun is one of two players who received honorable mention All-Ivy recognition in 2019, the other being Lawton.
*A reminder that the four-year seniors on the team—Bruder, Cotto, Duncan, Shenk,
Lucy Kellogg and
Allie Schachter—were members of Penn's last Ivy League championship squad, in 2018.
