The Series with Yale
Saturday's meeting between the Quakers and the Bulldogs will be the 31st match in the series history. Yale holds a slight advantage in the all-time series, 13-11-6. The last meeting between the two teams saw Yale take a 1-0 win at Rhodes in 2019. Emily Yin had the game's only score in the 73rd minute.

About Yale
Despite a rough season the Bulldogs are coming off a win their last time out, defeating Cornell 1-0 at home. Yale is 2-11-0 on the season with its other win a 2-0 shutout against St. John's last month. Alanna Butcher (2g,2a) leads the team with six points and Ellie Rappole (2g,1a) is second with five points. They are the only Bulldogs with multiple goals on the season. Six additional players have recorded a goal for Yale.

Quaker Notemeal
*Penn remains perfect at Rhodes Field under head coach Casey Brown, in her first season coaching the Quakers. The Red and Blue have taken 24 points from 24, going 8-0-0.

*Janae Stewart was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday, following her three-point game against Dartmouth. This is her first weekly honor and Penn's second in 2021. Lauren Teuschl was named Player of the Week on Sept. 20.

*In Monday night's 4-0 win against Delaware State, junior Miranda Farman scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal in the fourth minute. That would be all the Quakers would need as sophomore goalkeeper Laurence Gladu and junior keeper Maggie Robinson each took a half and shut out the Hornets. Isobel Glass had two goals, and Paige Kenton tallied the fourth goal for the Quakers. Mia Shenk played a part in three of the four Quakers goals, as she tallied three assists.

*Gladu has played all but one half this season. For the first time in 2021, Brown gave her starting keeper a rest. Robinson made a crucial save to keep the match at 1-0, in her season debut for the Quakers. After making one save in the first half of the Delaware State game, Gladu's 55 total saves currently leads the Ivy League.

*Shenk (5g,3a) and Teuschl (3g,7a) lead the Quakers offense with 13 points each. Stewart and Sizzy Lawton are tied for third on the team with nine points each. Glass has seven points. Senior Jackie Bruder and Kenton have two goals each.

*Penn's other goal scorers this season are seniors Abbey Duncan (at Maryland) and Lucy Kellogg (Dartmouth), juniors Emily Pringle (Cornell) and Farman, and sophomores Madison Liebman (at Hofstra) and Ginger Fontenot (at Temple).

*Penn named three captains for the 2021 season prior to the opener. Senior JoJo Cotto and juniors Pringle and Peyton Raun lead the Quakers.

*Raun is one of two players who received honorable mention All-Ivy recognition in 2019, the other being Lawton.

*A reminder that the four-year seniors on the team—Bruder, Cotto, Duncan, Shenk, Lucy Kellogg and Allie Schachter—were members of Penn's last Ivy League championship squad, in 2018.

*If you cross paths with Penn assistant coach Becky Edwards, congratulate her on the August 18 announcement that she will be inducted into the Florida State University Athletics Hall of Fame later this year.
