How It Happened
Pringle's goal was a perfect cap to a tremendous solo effort, as she made her way through a pressuring Big Red defense down the left flank. As her angle was closing near the end line she fired off a shot, putting it over onrushing Cornell goalkeeper Miranda Iannone's head to give the Quakers a 1-0 advantage in the 12th minute.
Cornell quickly countered with a tricky shot from the top of the box that Gladu handled. In the 31st minute, Pringle fired her second shot of the match but it was off target, and the Quakers took the one-goal lead into the locker room at the half.
Stewart wasted no time in getting the offense going for the Quakers in the second half as she fired a shot to the bottom left of the net, but ultimately Iannone was there to make the save. Around the hour mark, Fontenot had a prime chance to add a goal for the Quakers but her shot from the top of the box was just high.
Less than seven minutes later, though, Teuschl sent a ball to a wide-open Fontenot who fired a shot off the post. Kenton was right there to collect the rebound and she cleaned it up to give the Quakers a 2-0 advantage.
