NEW YORK – The University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team went on the road to take on Columbia in New York. Early second half goals for the home team is all it would take as Penn fell 2-0 at Columbia on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore goalkeeper
Laurence Gladu made seven saves in the loss.

Miranda Farman also tallied a shot in the match.
*Gladu recorded seven saves. This is the second time this season she has recorded more than six saves.
How It Happened
In the ninth minute,
Emily Pringle recorded the matches' first shot as her ball was to the bottom right of the goal was saved by the Lions keeper. Less than three minutes later, Gladu made her first save of the match.
Sizzy Lawton had a great chance to open the scoring in the 33rd minute as her shot on goal was right at the Columbia goalkeeper.
Despite thirteen total shots by the two teams in the opening half, Penn and Columbia took a scoreless tie into the halftime break.
The Columbia offense put the pressure on the Quakers defense as it fried off four shots in a four minute span. Gladu made two saves on the two shots on goal.
In the span of four minutes, the Lions find the back of the net twice, just enough to earn the victory. In the 56
th minute, the visiting team was called for a foul inside the box giving the Lions a penalty kick. Nata Ramirez did not waste her opportunity as she scored the first goal of the match.
After a pair of fouls on the Quakers, The Lions offense got past Gladu and scored for their second goal of the match.
Columbia's offense kept the pressure on Penn in the second half to preserve its 2-0 advantage. The Lions limited the Quakers to just five shots, including two on goal.

Penn returns to Rhodes Field for its next three matches. The homestand begins next Saturday with a 2 p.m. kickoff against Dartmouth.
