PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore
Sam Handley of the University of Pennsylvania men's lacrosse team added another accolade as he was tabbed a 2021 USILA / Warrior and New Balance Preseason second-team All-America on Wednesday afternoon.
Back in December, Handley was recognized as a 2021 US Lacrosse Magazine Preseason first-team All-American.
The Portland, Oregon native missed most of the 2020 season due to injury. In his one appearance for the Quakers, he scored three goals and added two assists at No. 4 Maryland.
As a freshman in 2019, Handley was a first-team USILA All-America, first-team
Inside Lacrosse All-American, the
Inside Lacrosse Freshman of the Year, the unanimous Ivy League Rookie of the Year, a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection, the ECAC Rookie of the Year, and a
CollegeCrosse.com All-Freshman selection.
During his first year with the Red and Blue, Handley also set Penn freshman records for goals (35), assists (26), and points (61). His 61 points rank fourth all-time by a Quaker in a single season.
