PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis is ready for one of the biggest weekends of the indoor season at the ECAC Tournament, hosted by Columbia, beginning on Friday, Feb. 7 and continuing through Sunday, Feb. 9.

This year's eight-team ECAC Tournament consists of seven Ivies, in addition to UMass, with Penn entering as the No. 2 overall seed behind only Harvard.
Path To The Final
Penn will open the tournament in the final match of the first round, scheduled for a 5 p.m. start on Friday night. With a win, the Quakers will take on the winner of No. 3 Yale/No. 6 UMass on Saturday at 5 p.m. The championship match is set for Sunday at 5 p.m.
Latest ITA Rankings
Iuliia Bryzgalova became the highest ranked singles player in program history on Wednesday when the ITA ranked the sophomore No. 11 in the country, moving up one spot from No. 12, which matched Connie Hsu's best ranking in 2010-11.
Bryzgalova excelled during the fall season going, 7-4 against ranked opponents and 16-4 overall. Some of her wins included a run to the ITA All-American Championships quarterfinal, beating now No. 2 Cameron Morra (UNC), now No. 37 McCartney Kessler (Florida) and then No. 5 Kelly Chen (Duke) in the process. Since the turn of the calendar, Bryzgalova has gone 2-0 with wins over Richmond and NJIT.
In doubles, Bryzgalova and teammate Marija Curnic dropped to 38th from 16th but still rank as the second-best doubles team in the Ivy League. The pair is 2-1 in the spring, suffering a loss to only No. 9 Drummy/Rosca of Vanderbilt in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend and is 15-5 overall this year.
