PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's women's tennis team (5-5) continued their winning ways, defeating Philadelphia rival Drexel (8-2) 4-3 on Friday afternoon. The win improves the Quakers home record to 4-0.
As they've done so many times, the #47 ranked doubles duo of
Iuliia Bryzgalova and
Marija Curnic started the Quakers off with a win, taking their match 6-4.
Carolyn Xie and
Ashley Zhu quickly followed with a win of their own to secure a critical doubles point.
The Quakers and Dragons traded blows the remainder of the match, with ties at 1-1 and 2-2. However,
Clarise Huang delivered a clutch win at No. 5 and Bryzgalova was able to secure the fourth point and the victory following an early 0-1 deficit.
