CAMBRIDGE, MASS. – The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team opened the Potter Cup with a bang, rolling past #6 Yale by a final score of 8-1. The win sends the men to the Potter Cup semifinals for the second consecutive season.
With two freshmen in the starting nine, the pressure of the national stage would be felt by many, but not by the Quaker freshman.
Dillon Huang set the tone win a dominant 3-0 win to give the Quakers the edge.
From there, it was all Quakers.
Wil Hagen and
Andrew Douglas delivered 3-1 victories and
Saksham Choudhary continued his unbeaten run with another win. After Yale responded with a five-game win,
James Flynn sealed the victory in a lengthy four-game win.
The result against Yale mirrors last season's mark in that both wins were against Yale by 8-1 margins. However, the Quakers avoid a date with #1 Harvard in the semifinals and will look to secure a historic victory against #2 Trinity.
