The Penn-Saint Joseph's Series
• This is the 88th meeting between the Quakers and the Hawks in men's basketball, with Saint Joseph's leading the series 50-37.

• Penn has not played any non-Ivy League team more than Saint Joseph's. Next closest is Navy, whom the Quakers have played 85 times.

• Penn has won the last two meetings, taking a 78-70 win last year—clinching the Big 5 title outright in the process—and a 67-56 decision two years ago; the last time the Quakers won three in a row in the series was 1977-79.

• Overall, the Quakers have enjoyed more success against the Hawks than any other Big 5 opponent over the last decade, winning five of the last nine meetings. Entering the 2019-20 season, Penn had just three wins over La Salle in that same span and one each vs. Temple and Villanova.

• In keeping alive the tradition of the Big 5, every game in this series dating back to the 1996-97 season has been played here at The Palestra. In the 24 games played during this stretch, Saint Joseph's has 15 wins and Penn nine.

CollegeInsider.com Recognitions
• On December 31, senior forward AJ Brodeur was named to the CollegeInsider.com Lou Henson All-Decade Team for the 2010s. He was one of four Ivy Leaguers named to the 40-player squad—representing the best mid-major players in the country over the last 10 years—and the only active player among those four. The other Ivy Leaguers on the All-Decade Team are Wesley Saunders (Harvard), Justin Sears (Yale) and Miye Oni (Yale).

Brodeur also was named to CollegeInsider.com's Mid-Season Watch List for this year's Lou Henson Award, one of just two Ivy Leaguers on the list along with Yale's Paul Atkinson.

Penn Men's Basketball by the Numbers
1.22 • Penn's assist (210)/turnover (172) ratio this season, best among the Ivy League teams.

4 • Consecutive Big 5 home games won by Penn, dating back to the 2017-18 season; amazingly, it's the Quakers' longest home winning streak in the city series since they won 12 in a row from the 1971-72 season to 1974-75.

5 • Games in which freshman guard Jordan Dingle has reached at least 20 points so far this season.

8 • Double-doubles by Brodeur through 13 games this season, after he went for 22 points and 13 assists last Friday at Princeton; that includes his first-ever points (11)/assists (10) double-double, which occured against Arizona on November 29.

9.6 • Three-point baskets per game by Penn so far this season, tops among Ivy League teams; the Quakers have reached double figures in treys in seven of their last 10 games.

10 • Double-figure scoring games so far this season for senior guard Ryan Betley, after he went for 10 last Friday at Princeton.

11 • Penn players who have recorded at least one double-figure scoring game during their career; that includes six players with at least one game of 20 or more points and five with double-doubles (Brodeur, Betley, Eddie Scott, Bryce Washington, Lucas Monroe).

15.0 • Senior guard Devon Goodman's points-per-game average over Penn's last eight contests; he has reached double digits in all of them.

32 • Goodman's assist total over Penn's last six games; that includes seven against both Long Beach State and the first meeting with Princeton, tying his career high in both cases.

38/27 • Total points and rebounds by Brodeur through Penn's first two Big 5 games this season (20/13 vs. La Salle, 18/14 at Villanova).

48/116 • First-half/second-half points by Dingle this season; of his 91 points over his last six appearances, 65 of them have come in the second half.

52.6 • Freshman Max Martz's shooting percentage from three-point land this season (20-of-38), tops among Ivy League players.
