PHILADELPHIA – Sam Handley's dominant freshman season was rewarded with a selection as the No. 1 freshman in Division I lacrosse by Inside Lacrosse magazine which ranked Handley atop its Top-25 freshmen list.
The only freshman in the nation to be named a first-team All-American by the USILA and Inside Lacrosse, Handley was the unanimous Ivy League Rookie of the Year and a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection in addition to earning ECAC Rookie of The Year honors.
During his stellar freshman campaign, he set Penn's rookie record for goals (35), assists (26) and points (61), finishing the season No. 2 among freshmen nationally is assists and No. 3 in points.
Handley was joined on the list by classmate
BJ Farrare who was ranked No. 9. An honorable mention All-Ivy selection at LSM, Farrare joined Handley as All-Freshman selections by CollegeCrosse.com.
