PHILADELPHIA – Two-time Ivy League champion and two-time All-Ivy selection
Tommy Dennis is set to begin his professional career this weekend with an invite to rookie minicamp with the New York Giants.
Dennis joins former Quakers
Justin Watson W'18 (Tampa Bay), Brandon Copeland W'13 (New York Jets) and Greg Van Roten W'12 (Carolina).
Louis Vecchio W'18 has been invited to minicamp with the Philadelphia Eagles after spending the 2018 season as a graduate transfer with Vanderbilt.
A second-team All-Ivy selection at left tackle the previous two seasons, Dennis started 30 games over the last three years. Over the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Dennis played every offensive snap for the Quakers and did not allow a sack during Penn's 515 pass attempts.
Last season, Dennis was part of an offensive line which ranked No. 12 in FCS football in tackles for loss allowed (4.2) and No. 20 in sacks allowed (1.1). In 2017, Dennis and the offensive line blocked for the Ivy League's No. 2 rushing attack. In 2016, Dennis was part of a group that protected NFL signee Alek Torgersen who was sacked the second-fewest times in the Ivy League while being forced into just four interceptions.
