PHILADELPHIA – A historic nine University of Pennsylvania men's lacrosse players have been named All-Ivy as voted on by the Ivy League's head coaches.
 
Leading the way is freshman Sam Handley who was a unanimous selection as Ivy League Rookie of the Year. He is the fourth Quaker to earn Rookie of the Year honors, and the first since Reed Junkin and Simon Mathias shared the award in 2016.

Handley was also a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection, joined by teammates Tyler Dunn, Mark Evanchick and Reed Junkin as first-team All-Ivy honorees. 2019 marks only the second time in program history that Penn earned four first-team All-Ivy honors, the other being 1984 – the last time before this season that Penn completed a perfect 6-0 Ivy League season.
 
A trio of Quakers earned second-team All-Ivy nods. Senior Simon Mathias earned his fourth career All-Ivy selection and his third consecutive second team nod. He was joined by juniors Adam Goldner and Kyle Gallagher.
 
Junior defender Kyle Thornton and freshman long-stick midfielder BJ Farrare earned spots on the honorable mention All-Ivy team.

SAM HANDLEY - M
A unanimous first-team selection, Handley is the first Penn freshman in program history to earn first-team All-ivy honors … He has set a new program record for points by a freshman with 53, tied for the team lead … His four game-winning goals lead the Quakers … Handley ranks No. 2 in the country among freshmen in points per game (4.42) and assists per game (1.83) … Earned four Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors.
 
TYLER DUNN – M
Now a three-time All-Ivy selection, Tyler followed honorable mention selections in 2017 and 2018 with his first career first-team All-Ivy honor … Fifth on team with 23 points … Leads Penn field players with a career-high 29 ground balls … Scored game-tying goal with 0.1 seconds left against Yale.
 
MARK EVANCHICK – D
First-team All-Ivy for the second year in a row … Penn's primary close defender, drawing opposing team's top offensive threat … Has three caused turnovers and 11 ground balls.
 
REED JUNKIN – GK
Earned second career All-Ivy honor, following up a second-team All-Ivy nod in 2016 … Was also chosen as 2016 Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Year alongside teammate Simon Mathias … Has posted a .535 save percentage and an 11.15 GAA … Recoded a career-high nine wins … Ranks No. 18 in the country in saves per game (12.4) … Ranks No. 3 all-time in saves by a Penn goalkeeper (592).

Earned four career All-Ivy selections; the first Quaker to earn All-Ivy all four seasons … Selected second-team All-Ivy for the third straight year … Was honorable mention All-Ivy and Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Year in 2016 … Third on the team in goals (24) and points (41) … Second on the team in assists (17) … Has tallied a point in all 55 career games, the second-longest active streak in the nation … Has scored at least one goal in 32 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak in the nation … Ranks No. 4 all-time at Penn in career goals (108) and career points (176).
