How it Happened
The Quakers traveled to the other side of Market Street on Thursday for a clash with Drexel.
Jennifer Brann started in the circle and picked up where she left off after perfect game. The junior pitcher retired all six batters she faced as Penn headed to the third tied, 0-0.
A pair of singles in the bottom of the third with a runner on first brought in a run for Drexel to break the scoreless tie. With the bases loaded, the Quakers escaped the inning with just the one run scored. A single and walk from
Kayla Ketring and
Sarah Cwiertnia put runners on first and second in the top of the fourth. However, back-to-back outs ended the inning with runners on second and third.
A solo home run in the bottom of the fifth added to the Dragon lead. Drexel added a six run inning in the bottom of the sixth to walk-off with an eight run lead. A single with the bases loaded brought a pair of runs home and then it was another two RBI single to make it 8-0.
