IVY LEAGUE PICTURE
As Penn approaches the midway point of the Ivy League schedule, the Quakers are 1-2 with tough losses to Princeton and Harvard and a win over Dartmouth. The Tigers, as well as Yale, lead the conference at 3-0. After taking on Cornell and Columbia this weekend, Penn finishes with the Bulldogs and Brown at Hamlin Tennis Center next weekend.
CONTINUED DOMINANCE IN DOUBLES
After the win at Dartmouth, Penn recorded two victories in doubles, enough to win the point, for the ninth consecutive match. The Quakers' top pair of Marta Kowalska and Marija Curnic are 3-0 in Ivy play, 12-3 in dual matches in 2019, and ranked No. 48 in the country. Iuliia Bryzgalova and OJ Singh, Penn's No. 2 pair, are 12-1 together this spring.
BRYZGALOVA'S BRILLIANCE
Freshman Iuliia Bryzgalova is 1-0 in singles in Ivy play but has amassed a remarkable a 24-3 record this year. She currently sits at No. 91 in the nation and has provided a steady, strong hand at the top of Penn's lineup.
PREVIEWING CORNELL
Cornell enters the weekend 6-12 and 0-3 in Ivy League action, with losses to Columbia, Brown and Yale in convincing fashion. In February's ECAC Championships, the Big Red suffered losses to Princeton, Dartmouth and Harvard. Penn is 35-6 all-time against Cornell.
PREVIEWING COLUMBIA
Columbia began Ivy League play as the ECAC champions, cruising to wins over Yale, Penn and Princeton. The Lions are 13-2, but suffered a tight 4-3 loss to Yale last weekend to compile a 2-1 league record. Penn also holds this all-time series record with a 27-9 edge, but has lost the past four meetings.
