Wrestling Concludes Dual Meet Slate Sunday At #20 Lehigh

uPHILADELPHIA – #TheMovement makes one final venture into a dual meet for 2018-19, heading to Bethlehem to take on No. 20 Lehigh at Grace Hall on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Quakers (5-8) will be taking on their third Top-20 opponent in as many weeks in the Mountain Hawks (8-9), following a dual at No. 10 Cornell and at home against No. 19 Princeton.

Notes To Know…
  • The Quakers are 10-46-1 all-time in the series with the Mountain Hawks which dates back to 1912. The Red and Blue are 4-26-1 at Lehigh, last winning in Grace Hall on 12/1/12, a 24-12 win.
  • There are no expected rematches from last year's 41-6 win for No. 5 Lehigh. Only Joe Oliva is expected to return for the Red and Blue, while Courtlandt Schuyler, Jordan Kutler, Ryan Preisch and Jordan Wood all will return for Lehigh.
  • Despite the close proximity of the schools, there have been no matches between any of Penn's projected starters against Lehigh this season.
  • No. 14 Anthony Artalona leads the Quakers, entering the weekend with a 20-5 overall record and a 20-4 mark at 149 pounds. He has a 10-3 record in dual meets, but his only dual meet losses at 149 pounds came against No. 2 Matthew Kolodzik (Princeton) and No. 6 Mitch Finesilver (Duke).
  • Carmen Ferrante is 20-6 at 125 pounds, entering with a 10-1 record in dual meets. His 41 team points scored lead the team.
  • Doug Zapf won all three of his matches last weekend, picking up two wins at 133 pounds in addition to one at 141. He has evened his record at 12-12 – with 10 of his losses coming by decision.
  • Lehigh has undertaken arguably the toughest schedule of any team in the country this season. All nine of Lehigh's losses have come to teams ranked inside the NWCA Top-25, and three of their wins have been against Top-25 opponents.
