Notes To Know…
  • Penn is 3-2 at home this season, including a 2-0 record in Ivy League and EIWA duals.
  • Freshmen Anthony Artalona and Carmen Ferrante are tied for the team lead in wins with 18. Each had won eight times in dual meets.
  • Ferrante is 8-0 in dual meets, leading the Quakers with 32 team points scored.
  • Artalona is 8-2 in dual meets, scoring 31 team points.
  • Artalona has won six matches in a row at 149 pounds and is 9-0 against EIWA opponents at 149 pounds.
  • Penn is 51-57-5 all-time in dual meets against Princeton dating back to the first match between the two schools in 1906. Since 1989, Penn is 26-4 in dual meets against Princeton with six shutouts.
  • Last year, the Quakers fell to the Tigers, 28-15, in New Jersey. May Bethea, Joe Heyob, Tyler Hall and Gianni Ghione picked up wins for the Quakers in the dual. There are no expected rematches from last year's dual meet.
  • Princeton's No. 2 Matthew Kolodzik is 16-1 this season at 149 pounds, his lone loss a 10-2 major decision at the hands of current No. 1 Anthony Ashnault of Rutgers. Kolodzik is a two-time NCAA All-American and a two-time EIWA champion. Patrick Brucki is ranked No. 3 at 197 pounds and is coming off his first loss of the season, a 7-6 decisions loss as part of Princeton's 34-7 loss at Cornell last weekend.
  • Freshman Patrick Glory is ranked No. 10 at 125 pounds, and is also coming off a loss at Cornell where he was pinned by Vito Arujau.
  • The Quakers are 24-26 all-time against Franklin & Marshall in a series dating back to 1924. Penn is 10-1 against the Diplomats in the last 11 meetings, with only four of those – all Penn wins – coming since 2000.
  • Last year, the Quakers picked up a 31-16 win over F&M at Penn. The Red and Blue won six bouts, securing bonus points in five of them with three pins. There are no expected rematches from that dual on Sunday night.
  • Senor Antonio Pelusi is a two-time NCAA qualifier at heavyweight for the Dips.
  • Penn has never competed against California Baptist. The Lancers are in their first season competing at Division I after a successful run in Division II. Last year, CBU placed third as a team at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships. Zander Silva leads the Lancers this season with a 15-3 overall record at 141 pounds. He was fifth at the Reno Tournament of Champions. Junior Daxton Gordon won the 2018 NCAA Division II championship at 149 pounds, but has not competed since early January.
