Field Hockey Set to Honor Seniors Against No. 8 Princeton

PHILADELPHIA – This Saturday, the University of Pennsylvania field hockey class of 2020 will play its final game on Ellen Vagelos Field as the Quakers prepare to take on eighth-ranked Princeton at noon.
 
After a solid win over Brown last weekend, Penn is 7-9 on the season and 4-2 in Ivy League play. The Quakers are currently in third place in the Ancient Eight standings ahead of the regular season's final weekend.

Princeton has been a challenging opponent for the Quakers over recent years. Penn has lost each of the last 14 matchups, most recently with the Tigers erasing a 2-1 halftime deficit to win 3-2 last year.
 
Senior Day
This Saturday, the Quakers will recognize the four members of the Penn field hockey class of 2020.  Alexa Murray, Ava Rosati, Alexa Schneck, and Laura Shelton have helped the Quakers to 36 over their four years with the program.
 
Cool on the Spot
Elita van Staden leads the Quakers with seven goals and 14 points after converting a pair of penalty strokes against Yale two weeks ago.
 
How May I Assist You?
Erin Kelly leads the team with six assists—a career high for the junior. Kelly also scored her second goal on the season against Brown to help the Quakers win on the road.
 
Tearing Down the Ivy
A mainstay in the Penn lineup over the past four years, Schneck has been a thorn in the side of Ivy League opponents. In 27 Ancient Eight games, Schneck has totaled 37 points with 14 goals and 10 assists. This season she has totaled eight points in seven games from two goal and four assists.
 
Among the Ranks
The Quakers rank sixth in the nation with 7.63 penalty corners earned per game.
 
Scouting the Tigers
The Tigers clinched a share of the Ivy League title after a 3-0 victory over Cornell last week. Princeton is 12-4 and a perfect 6-0 in Ancient Eight play.
