PHILADELPHIA – Penn Athletics is pleased to announce an agreement with NBC Sports Philadelphia that will result in a record number of live broadcasts on the regional sports network during the 2019-20 year. All 18 live events will be produced by the Penn Sports Network.
The 18 events span 11 different sports and represent an increase from 17 events produced by Penn Athletics on NBC Sports Philadelphia last year and 14 in 2017-18.
"A key piece to our Division's strategic plan is increasing our brand awareness by producing intercollegiate contests to air on our local regional sports network, NBC Sports Philadelphia," the T. Gibbs Kane, Jr. W'69 Director of Athletics and Recreation Dr. M. Grace Calhoun said. "Combined with the Ivy League's relationship with ESPN, alumni, parents and friends of Penn Athletics will be able to support their teams on both digital and linear platforms. We look forward to showcasing the talents of our student-athletes and coaches, as well as our Penn Sports Network staff, to the region this year."
