Penn Champions Club Achieves Record Annual Fund Results and $37.1 Million in FY25 Commitments

PHILADELPHIA – The Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics (DRIA) and the Penn Champions Club (PCC) are proud to announce a historic fundraising year during the 2025 fiscal year, which began July 1, 2024 and concluded June 30, 2025. Thanks to the generosity of our alumni, family, and friends, the Penn Champions Club raised more than $37.1 million in commitments across annual funds, endowments, and capital projects, marking one of the strongest overall totals in Penn Athletics history.

The fiscal year was highlighted by the highest varsity sport annual fund return in PCC history. More than $7.7 million was raised in support of Penn's 19 varsity annual funds during the record-breaking 2025 fiscal year. The success was partially fueled by the University's Match the Moment Challenge, which enabled our programs to secure over $800,000 in matching monies toward individual varsity and club sport annual funds. Additionally, our annual Red & Blue Challenge generated over $1.2 million in varsity annual fund gifts for the third consecutive year.

Significant growth was seen at leadership annual giving levels, evidenced by a 29% increase from FY24 in Athletic Director's Circle members – annual fund donors contributing $25,000 or more. Young alumni also played a key role in this year's success, with more than 120 additional annual fund donors from graduation years 2009–2024 compared to FY24. In total, 4,660 donors supported Penn Athletics this year, including over 3,000 Penn Champions Club members — alumni, parents, and friends who make annual fund gifts of $100 or more.

"These results are a testament to the unwavering commitment of the alumni, family and friends of Penn Athletics and Recreation," Alanna Wren, the T. Gibbs Kane, Jr. W'69 Director of Athletics and Recreation said. "From our most loyal supporters to those making their first gifts, the generosity of this community strengthens every aspect of the student-athlete experience and fuels our continued culture of excellence."

"This fiscal year's growth in annual fund support and continued investment across endowments and capital projects demonstrate the deep and shared devotion our donors have to the future of Penn Athletics. Our donor family continues to rally around Penn Athletics when they are needed most, as evidenced by the incredible engagement during the Red & Blue and Match the Moment challenges.  We are inspired by the passion of our donors and energized to build on this momentum in the years ahead, when the need for their support will continue to be magnified. Thank you to all those that chose to invest in our commitment to providing a first-class academic and athletic experience to our 1,000 student-athletes as well as our club and recreation participants," said Tim Folan, Senior Associate AD for Development & Alumni Relations.

The 2026 fiscal year began on July 1, 2025 and includes several compelling fundraising opportunities across annual, capital and endowment priorities that will elevate DRIA's programs as we strive to compete for Ivy League and national championships.
