Morgantown, W.Va. - The University of Pennsylvania volleyball team (3-8) dropped the finale of the Mountaineer Classic on Friday. The Quakers fell, 3-0, to host school, West Virginia. Penn is now finished with its nonconference schedule and will play its first Ivy match on Friday at The Palestra against Princeton.

Raven Sulaimon led the team in kills with 10. It's the seventh time this season that she's put up double-digit kills.
* For the first time in nine matches,
Daniela Fornaciari had less than three blocks.
* The all-time series against West Virginia is now tied 2-2. Penn had won the previous meeting in 2010.
How it Happened
A slow start put the Quakers in an early hole in the first set. Penn went down 8-2 and was not able to recover from the deficit. The Red and Blue bounced back from the 25-14 first set loss and jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the second.
Raven Sulaimon hit two of her ten kills in the match during the early run. However, with a 6-1 run from the Mountaineers, Penn lost the lead. The Red and Blue were unable to get the lead back as West Virginia went up 2-0.
Penn once again went down early as they trailed 6-2. However, not going down without a fight, the Quakers used kills from Sulaimon and
Daniela Fornaciari to tie the set up at 7-7. Up 21-20 late, the Quakers lost the final five points to go down to West Virginia, 3-0.
What's Next
The Quakers are finished with its nonconference schedule and will not begin the Ivy slate. It all starts on Friday at The Palestra against Princeton at 7 p.m.
