Series Information

Records: Penn leads Lehigh 29-14-4 | Last meeting: 2017 (Lehigh, 3-0)

The Quakers and Mountain Hawks first met in 1929, with Penn holding the lead in the all-time series 29-14-4. Lehigh won the most recent meeting, a 3-0 defeat for Penn on Rhodes Field a season ago, while the Quaker's last trip to Bethlehem ended in a 1-1 tie in 2016. The Quakers are seeking their first win over Lehigh since a 2-0 victory in 2009. Penn has not won at Lehigh in its last six meetings on the road against the Mountain Hawks, dating back to 1994.

The Golden (Goal) Connection
Both of Penn's wins have featured a similar component: Brandon Bartel to Alex Touche. The pair has teamed up twice in overtime to deliver a victory for the Quakers, first in the season opener against Monmouth and again at Marquette. Against the Hawks, Bartel delivered a ball to the head of Touche off a free kick just past midfield, while against the Golden Eagles, Bartel connected with the sophomore off a corner kick.

Going the Distance
Five players have seen every second on the field for the Quakers through four games. The backline of Erumuse Momoh, Touche, Casey Barone and RC Williams has been a stable force for Penn, each owning over 393 minutes to their name, while midfielder and set-piece leader Bartel joins the quartet in that category.

Good Times in Overtime
For the first time in program history, the Quakers ventured into overtime in each of their first three matches of the year. Luckily for Penn, the Red and Blue are unbeaten when going into overtime this season, sporting a record of 2-0-1.

Blades Earns Weekly Honor
Senior captain Jerel Blades corralled Penn's first weekly honor of the season following the opening weekend. Blades was named Ivy League Player of the Week after notching three points in Penn's win over Monmouth, assisting on the first goal of the night before scoring one of his own in the 17th minute.

Leading the League
Two weeks into the season, Penn sits near the top of the Ivy League in several categories, including leading the conference in corner kicks with 32 and sitting second in shots with 55. Individually, Bartel's two assists are tops in the conference, as are Touche's two game-winning goals. With two goals overall, Touche sits second in the league, as does sophomore Joey Bhangdia with 10 shots on the year. In the net, Scott Forbes ranks second with a GAA of .915 and a save percentage of .765. The senior goalkeeper's two shutouts in four games are the most in the Ivy League.

Scouting the Mountain Hawks
Lehigh enters the weekend with a .500 record on the year, sporting three wins and three losses to its name. The Mountain Hawks do boast some momentum, winning three of their last four contests, with victories at George Washington, St. John's and Rider. Penn and Lehigh share one common opponent of the year in Drexel, as Penn tied the Dragons in a scoreless draw at home, while Lehigh fell in overtime, 2-1. Mark Forrest leads the team with five points on the year.
