BORGOMANERO, Italy – The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team got off to a bit of a slow start in the third and final game of its Italian tour, but no worries as the Quakers eventually rolled to a 101-55 win over Novara Borgomanero club's second team in front of another standing-room only crowd on Sunday night.
Unlike the first two games, where Penn used the fast start, it was Borgomanero who shot out of the gate on Sunday as the hosts held an 11-4 lead after nearly four minutes of play. However, the Red and Blue scored nine points in 90 seconds to gain a lead it would never relinquish, and powered its way to an 18-3 run that set the tone for the rest of the night.
Penn ends its tour with a 2-1 record, and will fly from Milan back to the United States on Tuesday following a day of relaxing and sightseeing around Lake Como.
