MBB 2018 Italy Trip Game Two

Men's Basketball

Men’s Hoops Rolls to 93-56 Win in Second Game of Italy Tour

BERNAREGGIO, Italy – After letting a game get away from them on Thursday night, the University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team left nothing to chance in the second game of its Italian tour on Saturday night, jumping out to a big lead early and never looking back in taking a 93-56 win over Bernareggio 99.

Devon Goodman was the catalyst and easily the fan favorite on Saturday night, as the lightning-fast 6-footer scored 24 points that included a trio of three-pointers and one open-court steal that he converted into a thunderous slam dunk at the other end. That sent the standing-room-only crowd into a frenzy, and following the game he was besieged by the many young boys and girls in the audience.

Penn was up 25-5 to start Saturday's game and held a 27-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Bernarregio then scored seven straight points to start the second quarter, making it 27-19, but that was as close as the hosts got. The Quakers were up 52-27 at halftime, and 72-41 after three quarters.

Penn will close out this tour with a final game on Sunday night against Novara Borgomanero. Tip time is slated for 6:30 p.m. (12:30 East Coast time).

*Jackson Donahue also hit three-pointers on Saturday, two in the first half, on the way to his nine points.

*Once again, all 14 players saw time in the game and 12 of them scored against Bernareggio.
