Penn Bested in Child Cups Race on Saturday

PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania men's heavyweight rowing team took second place in this year's Childs Cup race. The Quakers raced Princeton and Columbia on Lake Carnegie, and clocked 6:09.2 over the 2,000-meter course. That was behind the Tigers (6:03.9) but ahead of the Lions (6:12.8).
 
Penn also had a Second Varsity Eight race on Saturday, and the Quakers took third in that race in 6:33.1. Princeton was the winner in 6:12.7, while Columbia was second in 6:30.1.
 
Penn is back in action next Saturday, competing with Columbia and Yale for the Blackwell Cup. Those races will take place at Overpeck Park in Leonia, N.J.
