Women's Lacrosse at Dartmouth For Showdown of Ivy Unbeatens

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania will conclude the 2018 regular season with six Ivy League games, the first coming on Saturday as the Quakers make the long trip North to face the only other team undefeated in conference play. Dartmouth is 3-0 in the Ivies, a win ahead of Penn, and 7-1 overall. Saturday's showdown will take place on Scully-Fahey Field at noon.

Saturday's game will air worldwide on the subscription-based Ivy League Network (ILN), now available on Apple TV, Roku and the ILN app for Android and Apple devices.

Notes To Know…
*Penn (8-2, 2-0 Ivy) is coming off a 12-11 overtime loss to Northwestern, which dropped the Quakers to 11th in this week's IWLCA national coaches poll
*In that loss last Sunday, Penn was down 8-2 in the first half and 11-6 in the second half before coming all the way back to tie the game with 11 seconds left and force OT.
*Dartmouth leads the all-time series, 23-19, and took a 10-9 decision the last time these teams met in Hanover. Last year, in Philly, Penn rolled to a 17-6 win.
*Dartmouth has had the last two Ivy League Offensive Players of the Week, as Ellie Carson got it on Monday and Elizabeth Mastrio got it the week before. At the other end, Kathryn Giroux was named Ivy Defensive Player of the Week two weeks ago.
*Dartmouth leads the Ivy League in scoring, at 15.39 goals per game, while Penn boasts the top defense in the league allowing just 9.13 goals per contest.

Five Lead the Drive
Penn had five women earn recognition when Inside Lacrosse posted its Midseason All-American teams last Thursday. Sophomore Gabby Rosenzweig was a second-team selection, while freshman Zoe Belodeau and junior Katy Junior were named third-team All-American. Senior Alex Condon and sophomore goalie Mikaila Cheeseman earned honorable mention recognition.

Four to the Tewaaraton List
Penn also has four women on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. The Tewaaraton is given annually to the nation's top male and female college lacrosse players. Condon and Junior were on the original list put out prior to the season, while Rosenzweig and Belodeau were added to the list on March 22.

Nationally Speaking
*Penn is third nationally in assists per game (7.9), which also tops the Ivy League
*Penn is sixth nationally in fewest turnovers per game (13.3)
*Penn's GAA not only tops the Ivy League, it is 11th nationally

The Cheese Stands Alone
Sophomore goalkeeper Mikaila Cheeseman ranks seventh nationally in save percentage (.524) and 13th in goals-against average (9.21). She leads the Ivy League in GAA and saves per game (8.7).

Zoe-MG
Freshman Zoe Belodeau is playing as well as any rookie in the country this season. After recording five points (2g, 3a) and nine draw controls last Sunday vs. Northwestern, she leads all freshmen nationally in assists (18) and assists per game (1.8) and is fourth among freshmen in draw controls per game (5.6), sixth among rookies in points per game (4.00), and eighth in total points (40). Belodeau—who has twice set the Penn single-game draw control record this season—has 56 DCs through 10 games. Last year, Erin Barry led all Penn players with 42 draw controls over 17 games.

Belodeau Closing In On Rookie Records
Belodeau's 40 points (22g, 18a) through ten games are already within range of Penn's rookie scoring record of 45 set by Erin Brennan '12 during the 2009 season. Brennan would total 27 goals and 18 assists during a rookie season which ended with Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors. Belodeau is also closing in on Penn's record for assists in a rookie season, set by Penn Athletics Hall of Famer Sherry Marcantonio who had 20 in 1980.

Rosenzweig Is Rolling
Sophomore Gabby Rosenzweig had three points last Sunday and continues to lead the Quakers in scoring with 32 goals and 19 assists for 51 points. She ranks 13th in the nation in points per game, and 35th in goals per game.

Career Record Book Rankings
*Emily Rogers-Healion moved into the top 20 on Penn's all-time list with four points last Sunday, giving her 135 for her career. Her 65 career assists are tied with Ali DeLuca '10 for fifth.
*Alex Condon's 103 career goals are tied with Iris Williamson '16 for ninth all-time at Penn. Condon's 126 career points are No. 15 all-time at Penn.
