PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team wrapped up the season on Sunday, shooting out to an early lead but unable to hold on, dropping a 5-2 decision to Harvard. Penn ends the year 9-13 overall and 2-5 in the Ivy League.

The doubles point was high point for the Red and Blue, with three highly entertaining matches. Courts one and three saw both Penn and Harvard gain big leads, only for their opponents to make late comebacks, while court two's match was tight throughout. Marija Curnic and Marta Kowalska earned their fifth Ivy League victory on court two, defeating Harvard's Annika Ringblom and Anna Li, 6-4. Soon after, Jimena Rodriguez-Benito and OJ Singh held off the Crimson's Neha Gupta and Isabel Jasper on court three, prevailing 7-5 to clinch the point for the Quakers. After falling down early, Ria Vaidya and Ashley Zhu ended their match knotted 5-5 on court one.

Penn couldn't maintain its momentum heading into singles play, dropping the first set on five of six courts, as all five points would end up turning Harvard's way. Curnic proved to be Penn's lone singles win of the day, as the rookie defeated Irene Lu on court four, 6-4, 6-1. Curnic finished the spring with a 10-4 mark in singles play, including a 6-1 record in conference play. The Quakers' other closest matches came as Kowalska mounted a late rally on court two, before falling in a tiebreak, with Singh finding a similar fate on court five.
