Alumni Day as Women's Lacrosse Hosts Columbia Saturday at Noon

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team is the lone team unbeaten in Ivy League play after a 13-11 win at Dartmouth last Saturday. The Quakers look to build off that momentum at home the next two weeks, starting Saturday when they host Columbia in a noon start at Franklin Field.

Saturday's game is the front end of a lacrosse doubleheader at Franklin Field, as the Penn men will follow the women's game by hosting Harvard at 3 p.m. Both of Saturday's games will air worldwide on the subscription-based Ivy League Network (ILN), now available on Apple TV, Roku and the ILN app for Android and Apple devices.

In addition to the doubleheader, Saturday will be Alumni Day for both programs and the men's team will be honoring the 1988 squad which will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its run to the NCAA semifinal round.

Notes To Know…
*Penn (9-2, 3-0 Ivy) scored four of the last five goals last Saturday in Hanover to knock Dartmouth from the Ivy unbeaten ranks. The win also snapped the Big Green's seven-game win streak.
*Penn remains in the IWLCA national poll this week, moving up two spots to No. 9
*Penn has never lost to Columbia; the Quakers are 21-0 since this series started in 1997
*That said, Columbia is already 2-2 in league play this year, with the wins coming against Harvard and Yale in their two most recent conference contests
*Penn leads the league in overall scoring defense (9.36 GAA), assists per game (8.00), caused turnovers per game (10.91), and save percentage (.505)

Five Lead the Drive
Penn had five women earn recognition when Inside Lacrosse posted its Midseason All-American teams a few weeks ago. Sophomore Gabby Rosenzweig was a second-team selection, while freshman Zoe Belodeau and junior Katy Junior were named third-team All-American. Senior Alex Condon and sophomore goalie Mikaila Cheeseman earned honorable mention recognition.

Four to the Tewaaraton List
Penn also has four women on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. The Tewaaraton is given annually to the nation's top male and female college lacrosse players. Condon and Junior were on the original list put out prior to the season, while Rosenzweig and Belodeau were added to the list on March 22.

Nationally Speaking
*Penn is second nationally in assists per game (8.0), which also tops the Ivy League
*Penn is sixth nationally in fewest turnovers per game (13.45)
*Penn's GAA not only tops the Ivy League, it is 20th nationally

The Cheese Stands Alone
Sophomore goalkeeper Mikaila Cheeseman ranks 14th nationally in save percentage (.508) and 18th in goals-against average (9.240). She leads the Ivy League in GAA and saves per game (8.45).

Zoe-MG
Freshman Zoe Belodeau is playing as well as any rookie in the country this season. After recording six points (4g, 2a) last Saturday at Dartmouth—figuring in four of the Quakers' final five goals to lead the comeback to victory—she continues to lead all freshmen nationally in assists per game (1.82) and is third among freshmen in points per game (4.18), fourth in draw controls per game (5.36), and seventh in total points (46). Belodeau—who has twice set the Penn single-game draw control record this season—has 59 DCs through 11 games. Last year, Erin Barry led all Penn players with 42 draw controls over 17 games.

Rookie Records For Belodeeau
Belodeau needed just 11 games to reach 46 points (22g, 18a) and break the program's freshman record of 45 set by Erin Brennan '12 during the 2009 season. Brennan totaled 27 goals and 18 assists during a rookie season which ended with Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors. With 20 assists, Belodeau's next feed for a goal will break the program mark for assists in a rookie season. She currently co-owns the record with Penn Athletics Hall of Famer Sherry Marcantonio, who had 20 in 1980.

Rosenzweig Is Rolling
Sophomore Gabby Rosenzweig had three more points last Saturday and continues to lead the Quakers in scoring with 33 goals and 21 assists for 54 points. She ranks 14th in the nation in points per game, 32nd in assists per game, and 42nd in goals per game.

Career Record Book Rankings
