Men's Basketball Travels North to Face Dartmouth (Fri), Harvard (Sat)

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team opened its five-game Ivy League road trip in fine fashion on Tuesday night, earning an 82-65 win at archrival Princeton for its largest win at Jadwin Gym since 2002. The Quakers continue the trip this weekend, making the long trip North to face Dartmouth on Friday and Harvard on Saturday.

Both of this weekend's games will air worldwide on the Ivy League Network (ILN), now available on Apple TV, Roku and the ILN app for Android and Apple devices. Friday's game in Hanover can also be seen on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app, and fans in New England can watch Saturday's game at Harvard on NESN.

THE DARTMOUTH-HARVARD TRIP
This is the 62nd time Penn has made this trip to the Northern-most Ivy League programs. The Quakers have swept the weekend 34 times previously, most recently in 2012; they have split it 18 times, most recently in 2013; and they have been swept nine times including each of the last four years.

GAME 23 – PENN (16-6, 6-0 Ivy League) at DARTMOUTH (4-15, 0-6)
Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 * 7 p.m.
Leede Arena (Hanover, N.H.)

THE SERIES WITH DARTMOUTH
• These teams are meeting for the 214th time with Penn leading the series, 151-62.

• That said, Dartmouth has held the advantage in this series in recent years. The Big Green have won three in a row over the Quakers, including a season sweep last year with a 74-71 win here in Hanover and then a 76-74 victory at The Palestra in Philadelphia.

• Penn has struggled in Hanover in recent years; in fact, no one on the current Penn team has ever won a game at Leede Arena. The Quakers' last victory in Hanover came in 2013.

GAME 24 – PENN at HARVARD (10-11, 5-1)
Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 * 4 p.m.
Lavietes Pavilion (Cambridge, Mass.)

THE SERIES WITH HARVARD
• The Quakers and the Crimson will meet for the 173rd time on Saturday; Penn holds a 131-41 lead in the series.

• Harvard has dominated this series for the last several years, however, with a 14-5 lead over the last 19 games dating back to the 2007-08 season.

• Penn and Harvard have split their season series each of the last two years, the home team winning each of the last four games. Last year, the Crimson took a 69-59 decision here in Cambridge, but Penn snuck into the Ivy League Tournament in the regular-season finale with a 75-72 victory at The Palestra in Philadelphia.

• Penn has won at Harvard's Lavietes Pavilion just two times in the last decade, a 66-60 win in 2009 and a 55-54 victory in 2012.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW...
• Penn has won four in a row, seven of eight, 11 of 13, and is 16-4 since dropping its first two games this season.

• Penn is 6-0 in the Ivy League for the 15th time in program history—all of them occuring since the 1969-70 season—but the first time since 2005-06.

• On Tuesday night, Penn defeated Princeton 82-65 at Jadwin Gym to complete its first season sweep over its archrival since 2007-08.

• Penn leads the Ivy League in five categories (all games): scoring margin (+7.8), FG percentage defense (.413), 3FG percentage defense (.297), rebound margin (+2.5), and assist/turnover ratio (1.23). In Ivy play, the Quakers lead in scoring margin (+8.5) and 3FG percentage defense (.260).

PENN MEN'S BASKETBALL BY THE NUMBERS
2
• Wins over archrival Princeton this season, Penn's first season sweep of the Tigers since the 2007-08 season.

3 • Overtime games played this season by Penn, after Friday's 95-90 win against Brown. The others were a 2OT loss to La Salle on November 13, and a 4OT win at Monmouth on November 25. The last time the Quakers had three overtime games in a season was 2010-11, when they played five.

5 • Consecutive Ivy League road games Penn will play in a 12-day span. The road trip started Tuesday at Princeton, goes through this weekend, and ends next weekend at Columbia and Cornell.

5.3 • Yale's three-point field goal percentage last Saturday; the Bulldogs went 1-of-19 beyond the arc.

7 • Seven different players have led Penn in scoring in a game this season: seniors Wood and Darnell Foreman; juniors Woods and Max Rothschild; sophomores Betley and Brodeur; and freshman Jarrod Simmons.

8.8 • Brodeur's rebounds-per-game average in Ivy League play, tops in the league. He had 13 boards against Brown last Friday, a career high, and has 39 over the last four contests.

9 • Consecutive double-figure scoring games by sophomore Ryan Betley (15.3 points per game in that span) after he went for 14 at Princeton on Tuesday. Betley has double digits in 16 of Penn's last 17 games and a team-high 19 overall.

12 • Penn has had 12 different players reach double figures in scoring in a game this year. Only Savannah State (13) has more.

12 • Penn is 6-0 in Ivy League play for the first time since the 2005-06 season, 12 years ago. That team ended the year 12-2 in Ivy play and won the league title.

16 • Penn has won 16 games this season, just the second time that has happened since the 2006-07 season. The 2011-12 team finished with 20 victories.

17 • Penn's margin of victory in its 82-65 win at Princeton on Tuesday, the Quakers' largest win at Jadwin Gym since February 12, 2002 (62-38).

21 • Senior Darnell Foreman had a career-high 21 points Tuesday at Princeton, and also five steals which is tied for most by a Penn player in the Steve Donahue coaching era.

59 • Days between road games for Penn before Tuesday's win at Princeton. The previous road game had been December 9, a 78-70 win at Dayton.

80.0 • Penn's Ivy win percentage since a 64-49 loss to Princeton on February 7, 2017. At the time, the Quakers were 0-6 in League play; since then, they are 12-3 against Ivy foes.

90 • Penn has scored 90 points five times this season, the most since the 1994-95 squad did it 10 times.

144 • Penn's NCAA Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) entering the week, tops among Ivy programs. Saturday's opponent, Harvard, is second among Ivy teams at 176.

185 • Combined points scored last Friday night between Penn (95) and Brown (90); the Quakers have had just five Ivy League games with more.
