NEW YORK, N.Y. - The University of Pennsylvania volleyball team (5-18, 2-10 Ivy) came up short on Saturday night in Columbia falling to the Lions, 3-1. The Quakers will finish the season at home at The Palestra next week.

* The Quakers out-hit Columbia in two of the final three sets of the match. Penn recorded a .379 in the second set to Columbia's .375 and .219 to .194 in the fourth.

Parker Jones tied her season high of 18 kills on Saturday night. The sophomore has now hit 18 kills three times this season.
* Jones' .357 attack percentage is her second highest this season. It's the fifth time that she has hit above .300.

Brooke Behrbaum tied her career high of 10 kills. She last hit that mark in the team's first meeting against Brown.

How it Happened
The Quakers came out to a slow start on Saturday going down an early 11-5. A
Brooke Behrbaum kill pulled Penn within two at 17-15, but a 5-1 run by the Lions made it 24-17. The Red and Blue took the next three points, but Columbia closed out the opening set, 25-20.
Penn once again found itself in an early deficit in the second going down 7-2 early on, however, a 4-1 run led by two
Parker Jones kills tied the set at 14. The Red and Blue lost the next point to go down 15-14, but
Taylor Cooper tied it up once again at 15 and Penn would not trail again until late in the set. Down 23-22,
Parker Jones tied it up at 23 with her seventh kill of the set and then it was
Raven Sulaimon who gave the Quakers set point. A Columbia error handed Penn the set, 25-23 and tied the match at 1-1.
The Red and Blue took that momentum into the third as the team took an early lead behind a 6-0 run. Tied at seven,
Brooke Behrbaum tallied two kills during the splurge to give Penn a 13-7 lead. The Quakers led 17-13, but Columbia went on a run of its own to tie the set at 17. Sulaimon gave her team a 22-20 advantage late and three points away from a 2-1 lead, but the Lions took five of the ensuing six points to take the third 25-23.
The Quakers took control early in the fourth as well going up 9-5 behind two more kills from Jones. However, Columbia climbed back to tie the set at 14. A 6-1 run put the Lions up 22-19. Penn came within two at 23-21, but Columbia won the final two points as Penn fell 25-21 and 3-1 overall.

The Quakers will return to The Palestra next weekend when they will wrap up the season against Dartmouth and Harvard.
