The Series with Stockton
• This is the first meeting between the Quakers and the Ospreys in men's basketball.
• This is also Penn's third game against a non-Division 1 opponent since
Steve Donahue took over as head coach in 2015-16. The Quakers faced Ursinus that season and defeated the Bears 73-66. Last year, Penn easily dispatched Penn State-Brandywine here at The Palestra, 99-40.
Fast Out of the Gate
Penn started 4-0 for the first time since the 1978-79 season, which coincidentally was the year that the Quakers made it to arguably the most famous Final Four of all time with Magic Johnson's Michigan State, Larry Bird's Indiana State, and Mark Aguirre's DePaul teams. The Quakers enter the Stockton game 4-2 after losses to No. 12 Kansas State and Oregon State.
Honors for Goodman, Wang
Junior
Devon Goodman was named Ivy League and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week on Monday, while freshman
Michael Wang was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week. Penn has swept the Ivy and Big 5 Player awards through two weeks this season, as junior
AJ Brodeur was Player of the Week by both conferences for the week of November 12.
Goodman also was named to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team following play on Monday. Goodman led the Quakers in scoring in all three games on the Virgin Islands, and against Northern Iowa he reached career highs in points (27) and steals (5) and matched a career best in three-point baskets (5).
