Volleyball Makes First Ivy League Road Trip to Harvard, Dartmouth

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania volleyball team (3-11, 0-3 Ivy) will make its first Ivy League road trip this season when the Quakers travel to Dartmouth (5-8, 1-2 Ivy) and Harvard (5-7, 0-3 Ivy). The Quakers will play Harvard on Friday at 7 p.m. before wrapping up the weekend in Hanover against the Big Green on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Previewing Penn

* The Quakers begin their Ivy road trip where they ended last season. Penn lost two close matches up in Hanover and Cambridge a year ago and will look to bounce back after tough losses last weekend to Yale and Brown. The Red and Blue will be looking to capture its first Ivy win of the season. 

* Raven Sulaimon surpassed her freshman kill total (123) last week. The sophomore has 141 one on the season and leads the team. Her 141 kills also rank fifth in the Ivy League. 

* Parker Jones (124) and Madison Goldstein (105) join Sulaimon as the three Quakers with triple digit kills. 

* Jones has five double-doubles on the season which is just three shy of her 2017 total. 

* Caroline Furrer leads the team with 191 digs. The junior captain recorded a career high 31 in the team's narrow loss to Brown. 

Penn at Harvard – Friday, 7 p.m.

Records: Penn leads 45-18 | Last Meeting: November 11, 2017 (Harvard, 3-1)

* The Quakers were swept by Harvard last season which included a close 3-2 loss at The Palestra. The two teams closed the 2017 season against one another with Harvard winning 3-1. Both teams come in 0-3 in Ivy League play. 

Previewing The Crimson
* Harvard will be playing its first Ivy League home matches this weekend. The Crimson are 2-0 at home this season with wins over Boston College and UMass Lowell. Christina Cornelius and Maclaine Fields lead the team with 1.06 and 1.00 blocks per set. Both numbers rank top ten in the Ivy League coming in at fifth and eighth.

Penn at Dartmouth – Saturday, 5 p.m.

Records: Penn leads 48-8 | Last Meeting: November 10, 2017 (Darmouth, 3-0)

* The Quakers and Big Green split their two meetings last season with both teams' wins coming at home. 

Previewing The Big Green
* Dartmouth is 1-2 in Ivy League play through the first three games with its lone win coming against Harvard, 3-2. Nicole Liddle is the only player for Dartmouth with triple digit kills as she has 107 on the year. The Big Green's 107 blocks as a team rank third in the Ivy League.
