Volleyball Continues Ivy Road Trip at Brown, Yale

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania volleyball team (5-14, 2-6 Ivy) continues its five-game road trip that started last week at Princeton to begin the second half of Ivy League play. The Quakers will look to avenge losses earlier in the season to Brown (8-10, 1-7 Ivy) on Friday (7 p.m.) and Yale (13-4, 7-1 Ivy) – who is tied for first place – on Saturday (5 p.m.).

Previewing Penn

* Penn is 2-1 in Ivy League play when recording more than 45 kills and is undefeated this season when hitting better than .250.

* Raven Sulaimon is just four kills shy of 200 on the season. She leads the team with 196, 81 of which have come during Ivy League play.

* Caroline Furrer recorded a career-high 31 digs earlier this season against Brown. The junior captain leads the team defensively with 254 digs and is on pace to break her career high of 321 that she set last year.

* Brooke Behrbaum also set career highs earlier this season against Brown. The senior hit 10 kills with an attack percentage of .450 while also recording three solo blocks.

* Madison Goldstein and Taylor Cooper have tallied a combined 100 blocks this season. The duo have been stout at the net and will look to continue to be so against Brown, the second-most blocked team in the Ivy League.

* The Quakers will look to avenge their loss to Brown from earlier this season at The Palestra. Penn fell after being up two sets early in the match. Raven Sulaimon, Parker Jones, and Brooke Behrbaum all recorded double-digit kill totals.

Previewing the Bears
Senior Sabrina Stillwell leads the Ivy League with 3.70 kills per set. As a team, Brown ranks third in the Ivy League in hitting percentage (.207) and fourth in the conference in kills per set (12.52), assists per set (11.58), and digs per set (15.34).

* Penn fell 3-0 to Yale at The Palestra earlier this season. This time the Quakers will travel to New Haven to take on the Bulldogs who remain tied with Princeton for the top spot in the Ivy League. Penn last won at Yale in 2010 in an Ivy League Playoff which sent the Quakers to the NCAA Championship.
