#7 Women's Lacrosse Set for Ivy League Tournament at Cornell

PHILADELPHIA – Guess who's back?
The only Ivy League team to qualify for all eight Ivy League Tournaments since the ILT began in 2010, No. 7 Penn begins its quest for a fourth Ivy League Tournament championship and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on Friday in Ithaca against Princeton.
Penn, Princeton and Cornell all tied for the Ivy League's regular season championship with 6-1 records, but the Big Red had the tiebreaker advantage and earned home field.

Penn Sets The Ivy Tournament Standard
Dating back to the Ivy League Tournament's inception in 2010, no team has appeared in more Tournaments (7), played more games (13), won more games (9) and won more championships (3) than Penn. Of the seven previous Ivy League Tournaments, Penn has played in six championship games, including each of the last five.
Penn vs. Princeton in the Ivy League Tournament
The Quakers have played no team in the Ivy League Tournament more than its opponent in Friday's semifinals. The two team have split four games, each winning once in the semifinals and once in the title game. The last two meetings between Penn and Princeton in the ILT came in championship games, Penn winning in 2014 before Princeton got the win back the next season.
Quakers Ride Seven-Game Win Streak Into Postseason
Penn has not lost a game since March 22 (an 11-7 loss at #1 Maryland) and enters the Ivy League Tournament with the country's seventh-longest winning streak at seven games. A win on Friday night will give Penn its longest winning streak since a 13-gamer in 2009.
Penn's Defense is Dominant
The Quakers lead the Ivy League and rank No. 3 in the country in Scoring Defense, allowing 7.73 goals a game. Penn has only allowed four opponents to reach double figures in scoring this season, and no team has scored more than 12. In Ivy League play, Penn is allowing a League-best 7.71 goals a game.
What Can Brown Do For Penn?
There's no question that Britt Brown has delivered for the Quakers in goal this season. She leads the county in save percentage (.562) and her GAA of 7.62 leads the Ivy League while ranking No. 3 in the country. She has been at her best in big games, with 9+ saves in all six of Penn's games against Top-20 opponents. She has seven games this season with 10 or more saves, and Penn is 6-1 in those games.
Quakers Lead the Nation on Team Save Percentage
With Brown's NCAA-best .562 save percentage leading the way, Penn ranks No. 1 in the nation in Save Percentage at .557. No. 2 in the nation? That would be Friday's opponent, Princeton, at .548.
No Sophomore Slump For Katy Junior
After coming on strong in the postseason last year, sophomore defender Katy Junior has exerted herself as a premier defender in 2017. She leads the Ivy League in Caused Turnovers with 36 and her 2.4 CTs per game is No. 11 in the country. She has at least one CT in each of Penn's games this season, nine games with 2+, and five games with 4+.
Condon Connects at Will
Junior midfielder Alex Condon leads Penn with 42 goals this season – a new career high which ranks No. 6 all-time at Penn. She has scored in 13 of Penn's 15 games this season, and scored 2+ goals on 10 occasions. She has twice scored eight goals in a game this season – one off the Penn and Ivy League single-game records – including going for eight in Penn's win over Princeton in the regular season. She is one of just two players in the nation to score 8+ goals in two separate games this season.
Rogers-Healion Provides Balanced Attack
Senior Emily Rogers-Healion leads the Quakers with 54 points in 2017, scoring 31 goals while posting a team-high 23 assists. Her 54 points are No. 12 all-time in a single-season by a Quaker and her 23 assists rank No. 11 on Penn's single-season charts. On Senior Day against Yale on Sunday, she recorded her 100th career point – the 24th Penn player to do so. Her 46 career assists rank No. 8 all-time at Penn.
Fresh Faces Give Penn Depth
A trio of freshman have wasted no time acclimating themselves to the Penn lineup. Gabby Rosenzweig's 38 points are fourth on the team, while Erin Barry is sixth with 27 points. Midfielder Chelsea Kibler is fourth on the team with 26 draw controls and 24 ground balls.
Gabby is Getting Close
Rosenzweig, who was ILWomen.com National Co-Rookie of the Week after a seven-point performance in the regular season finale, ranks No. 3 all-time in scoring by a freshman with 38 points on 22 goals and 16 assists. She is four assists away from tying the rookie record of 20 set in 1980 by Penn Athletics Hall of Famer Sherry Marcantonio '83. She is seven points away from tying Erin Brennan '12 for first place on Penn's single season rookie scoring record.
13 Wins is Tied for Seventh All-Time
The Quakers enter the 2017 postseason with 13 wins, which is tied for No. 7 all-time by a Penn team. Two wins this weekend will move the 2017 team into a tie for No. 3 all-time.
Quakers Scoring at Near-Record Clip
The 2017 team has scored 187 goals through 15 games – seventh all-time by a Penn team in a season. The 2017 squad's 12.47 goals-per-game ranks No. 2 all-time by a Penn club, behind only the 12.77 averaged in 1981.
RPI Proud
The Quakers enter the weekend ranked No 8 in the latest RPI and will take on No. 5 Princeton on Friday as both teams angle for a home game in the NCAA Tournament. The Quakers are 5-2 against RPI Top-25 teams in 2017 and are one of three teams (North Carolina, Princeton) to have not played any games against teams ranked lower than No. 60 in the RPI.
