CAMBRIDGE – Faced with early adversity, No. 10 Penn rallied in fine fashion to pick up a 13-10 win at Harvard.
The Quakers spotted the Crimson leads of 4-0 and 5-1 before shutting the door the rest of the way – allowing just five goals over the game's final 46:29. The Quakers held Harvard to just two goals over a span of 39:50 before the Crimson scored three in the final 3:29.
The second half of the first half was a complete turnaround for the Quakers. After conceding five goals in the first 13:31, Penn held the Crimson off the scoreboard for the final 16:29 of the opening period to climb back into the game.
Penn finished the first half on a 4-0 run to enter halftime tied, 5-5. The Red and Blue had five different goal scorers in the first half, and were 4-for-6 on free position attempts to methodically erase an early 4-0 deficit.
In the second half, Penn conceded the first goal but countered with six in a row to build an 11-6 lead and take control of the game.
The Quakers were 7-for-13 on free positions in the game – a single-game high for the 2017 season.
Natalie Stefan was a force on the draw for Penn, winning a game-high seven as Penn held a 14-11 edge on the draw
Britt Brown was up to her usual tricks, making 13 saves after allowing the four early goals.
How It Happened…
• Harvard struck twice in the first 1:05 to build an early 2-0 lead. Katie Muldoon had the first one, followed by Marisa Romeo.
• The deficit for Penn became 4-0 after two goals in 26 seconds from Maeve McMahon. Her second was a behind-the-back low shot with 24:03 to play in the first half.

Erin Barry ended Penn's drought to start the game, connecting on a free position from center hash 10:05 into the game.
• Romeo scored a free position goal with 16:29 left in the first half to give Harvard a 5-1 lead.

• Condon completed her hat trick on the free position, scoring on a shot to the left post 2:57 into the second half.

Gabby Rosenzweig gave Penn a two-goal lead with 25:42 to play, bouncing home a shot from the left post.
• Stefan connected on a free position with 20:20 remaining to give Penn a 9-6 lead.

Sarah Barcia cut to the net and picked up a Rosenzweig pass to give Penn a 10-6 lead just 23 seconds later.

Alex Condon cut to goal and picked up a Rogers-Healion pass for her fourth of the game with 10:45 to play to give Penn an 11-6 lead.
• Muldoon ended Penn's 6-0 run with her second of the game with 8:39 to make it an 11-7 Penn lead.
