PHILADELPHIA - It was a weekend full of record book numbers for the University of Pennsylvania track and field programs. 12 of them to be exact, including four new program records, all for the Quaker women. Penn split up across the nation, competing in three meets among the NCAA's best competition.
Pepsi Florida Relays
A large contingent of Red and Blue clad Quakers flew down south to the Sunshine State, to compete in the annual Pepsi Florida Relays. Things got off to a fast start on Friday in the 200m on both sides, as sophomore
Imani Solan darted to a time of 23.87 seconds, while junior
Calvary Rogers followed suit with a time of 21.18, good for 7th-all-time at Penn and currently ranking 24th in the NCAA East Region.
That would only be the beginning, as
Taylor McCorkle and
Barbara Biney both set strong marks in the 100m-dash, with McCorkle improving upon her school record time, clocking in at 11.58 seconds (23rd in the NCAA East Region), while Biney was right behind at 11.76 seconds. Freshman
Breanne Bygrave finished with a time of 13.86 in the hurdle variation of the same event, while fellow rookie
Nia Akins blasted to a time of 2:08.88 in the 800m, sitting 17th in the NCAA East Region. The relay teams both made history in The Swamp, as the quartet of Biney, McCorkle, Solan and
Elena Brown-Soler reset their school record mark in the 4x100 with a time of 45.31 (20th in the NCAA East Regoin), while
Cecil Ene, Solan, Brown-Soler
Mikayla Schneider shattered the previous school record in the 4x400, clocking in at 3:37.94 (12th in the NCAA East Region).
On the men's side in Florida, joining Rogers in the Penn record books was senior captain Noah Kennedy-White, who's distance of 17.04m in the shot put ranks seventh in Penn history, finishing sixth at the event, while freshman
Sean Clarke leaped to a height of 5.07m in the pole vault, also seventh in Penn history and 17th in the NCAA East Region. Kennedy-White also posted a season-best discus throw of 54.72m, ranking 17th in the NCAA East Region.
Stanford Invitational
On the West Coast, Penn's distance runners made a splash of their own, highlighted by
Cleo Whiting's school record performance in the 10,000m, finishing with a time of 34:09.65, currently sitting 21st in the NCAA East Region. Sophomore
Kevin Monogue also ran the 10K, clocking a time of 29:25.96, good for second in Penn record books.
Brendan Shearn followed Monogue's breakout time with a performance of 29:36.46 in the same event, as both Quakers' times rank in the top-30 currently in the NCAA East Region.
Chris Hatler improved upon his No. 2 time in Penn history in the 1,500m, finishing in 3:42.89, holding the No. 2 spot in the NCAA East Region. The Quakers also featured performances in the men's and women's 5,000m, led by
Ashley Montgomery, who posted a time of 16:14.17, currently ranked 17th in the NCAA East Region.
Danny Curran Invitational
The remainder of Penn's squad stayed close to home at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener. The Red and Blue dominated large portions of the meet, featuring first-place finishes in the women's 4x100 (

James Leddy). Thrower
Bianca Donadio also improved upon her personal best performance in the hammer, with a toss of 46.64, No. 10 all-time at Penn.
