PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania used a career day from freshman
Erin Barry to pull away from Lehigh, 17-9, in a non-conference game held on Ace Adams Field at Penn Park.
In her fourth collegiate game, Barry finished with six goals, four draw controls and five ground balls as she helped the Red and Blue improve to 4-1 overall this season.
Penn had a wide advantage in both shots (35-21) and draw controls (18-9), and used a 9-0 run started midway through the first half to break open a 2-2 tie and provide a comfortable margin to work with the rest of the way.
The Mountain Hawks netted the first goal of the game, but after
Emily Rogers-Healion netted her first of four with just 3:17 elapsed the Quakers would never trail again.
Penn would lead by as much as 10 in the game after Barry connected on a free position with 22:20 left in the second half. The Mountain Hawks would keep the margin under 10, scoring five of the final seven goals.

How It Happened
• Sondra Dickey opened the scoring 2:28 in to give Lehigh its only lead of the game.
• Kaitlyn Quinn leveled the game at 2-2 with 18:17 to play in the first half.
• Penn would score the next nine, building an 11-2 lead and holding the Mountain Hawks off the board for 16:49 of game play.
• Barry, Rosenzweig, and Rogers-Healion each scored twice in the 9-0 run. Barcia, Condon and
Caroline Cummings added the other three goals.
• Penn took a 12-3 lead into halftime after a buzzer-beating goal from
Sarah Barcia.
Britt Brown made a save with 0:17 left, and Penn cleared down to Condon who fed a pass to Barcia who spun and went behind her back for the goal.
• The Mountain Hawks netted the first goal of the second half as well, but Penn would again answer with two to take a 10-goal lead.
• Three more Mountain Hawk goals in a span of 3:23 climbed Lehigh back within seven with 15:06 to play. Haley Wentzel had two goals in that spurt.
• Barry and Rogers-Healion would again put an end to Lehigh's comeback thoughts with two goals to give Penn a 16-7 lead.

Kendall D'Amore capped the scoring with her first of the season off a Rosenzweig pass with 1:26 to play.
The Quakers are back at Franklin Field on March 11, hosting Georgetown at 1 p.m.
