#11 Women's Lacrosse Battles Brown on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – No. 11 Penn returns to Ivy League action on Saturday, venturing to Providence to take on Brown at 1 p.m. at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
The Quakers (6-2, 0-1 Ivy) and Bears (3-4, 0-2 Ivy) are both looking for their first conference wins of 2017 as the Ivy League moves into the meat of conference play.
Penn is coming off an 11-7 loss at No. 1 Maryland on March 22, coming up short in a game where Penn held the Terrapins to their fewest goals in 2017 and matched the Terps in total shots. Ultimately, a 6-0 Terps run over the final 10 minutes of the first half and opening five minutes of the second half was the difference.
Notes To Know…
• Penn is 29-9 all-time against Brown. The Quakers have won the last 13 meetings between the two teams dating back to 2004.
• In Providence, Penn is 13-6 all-time, with wins in its last six trips.
• The Quakers have not lost back-to-back Ivy League regular season games since 2006 when the Quakers lost at Dartmouth (8-4 on 4/15) and at Princeton (8-7 on 4/19). Since then, Penn has lost just six Ivy League regular season games and is 5-0 in its next Ivy League contests following a loss.
• Junior midfielder Alex Condon leads Penn and ranks No. 2 in the Ivy League with 23 goals this season.
• Senior attacker Emily Rogers-Healion has 12 assists to lead the Quakers this season. For her career, she has 35 assists – tied for 11th all-time by a Quaker. She needs four more to move past Amy Shapiro (1993-96) into 10th.
• Junior Caroline Cummings has already set a career-high for goals in a season with her 22 this season, surpassing the 21 she scored in 18 games in 2016. She is one point away from 50 for her career.
• Cummings has 10 goals over her last three games.
• Goalkeeper Britt Brown made 12 saves against No. 1 Maryland on Wednesday – the fourth time she has had 11+ saves in a game this season. Her 82 saves and .558 save percentage this season lead the Ivy League.
• Sophomore defender Katy Junior has 14 caused turnovers in her last four games, adding 10 ground balls.
About Brown…
• The Bears have lost four of their last five games.
• Two of those losses have come in Ivy League play –  losses at Princeton (10-7) and  at home against Yale (12-10)
• Brown is No. 3 in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 7.57 goals-per-game. That number is bolstered heavily by a 19-0 shutout of Sacred Heart in the season opener. The Bears have allowed 8.8 goals-per-game since that rout of the Pioneers.
• Junior goalkeeper Mikaela Karlsson is No. 4 in the nation in GAA (7.61) and No. 6 in save percentage (.553).
• Sophomore Hafsa Moinuddin leads Brown with 16 goals and 20 points.
• All three of Brown's leading scorers are sophomores, with Carolyn Paletta (14 goals) and Zoe Verni (10 goals) combining giving the trio 40 of Brown's 78 goals this season.
• Marissa Hudgins (17) and Kerianne Hunt (10) lead the Bears in caused turnovers.
• Brown has been outworked on the draw, 76-66, this season. Paletta has 20 draw control wins to lead the team.
