Men's Basketball Hosts Columbia Friday, Cornell Sunday




PHILADELPHIA – Coming off a loss to archrival Tuesday night, when Penn Athletics celebrated 90 years of The Palestra, the University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team remains at home this weekend with Ivy League games against Columbia on Friday night and Cornell on Sunday afternoon.

Friday's game will be televised on both the Ivy League Digital Network and ESPN3, while Sunday's game with the Big Red will be televised by the American Sports Network. If you do not have an ILDN subscription, check the link above to find the game on TV in your local area.

The C-C Home Weekend
• Penn has hosted the Ivy League's New York schools on this weekend 57 times.

• The Quakers have swept this home weekend 42 times, most recently two years ago and three times in the last five years; split it 13 times (most recently last year); and been swept twice (most recently in 2009).

The Series with Columbia
• The Quakers lead the overall series, 139-90, however the Lions have won two in a row, four of the last five, and five of the last seven.

 • Columbia swept Penn in last year's games, taking a 63-53 win in New York City and then gaining a 93-65 victory here at The Palestra. Prior to last year, the Red and Blue had won five straight here at home against the Lions.

The Series with Cornell
• The Quakers hold a 152-74 lead in the series, and have beaten the Big Red more than any other team in the program's long and storied history.

• Penn has won seven in a row and nine of the last 10 meetings with Cornell.

• Last year, the Quakers gained a 92-84 win in Ithaca—Jackson Donahue scoring 25 points, Matt Howard adding 20—then followed that up with a 79-67 win here at The Palestra as five different players scored in double figures.
