How it Happened
Three-point shooting was a large factor in a first half that was mainly controlled by the Tigers. Princeton knocked in a blistering eight of its first 12 from beyond the arc, building a 34-20 lead with less than three minutes remaining. The visitors added to their lead with their ninth long ball of the first half, leading to a 39-24 advantage with less than a minute left. Sam Jones provided a spark for Penn off the bench, recording a four-point play to cut the lead to 25-16, then a three-ball to put the deficit at 39-27 at the break. The Quakers had a brief lead of 8-5 following back-to-back buckets from Max Rothschild.
The Tigers' barrage from beyond the arc continued into the second half. Princeton drilled three consecutive long balls to gain a 50-33 edge at the 13:25 mark. Another three-ball provided the visitors a 53-35 lead. The Quakers battled throughout the second half, but were unable to shrink the lead lower than 15. Princeton made its 14th and final three-pointer to achieve its largest lead of 62-42 at the 2:52 mark.
