STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - As a team, the University of Pennsylvania men's and women's track and field programs put forth strong performances at the Villanova Invitational in Staten Island, but individually, senior Chris Hatler stole the show at the Armory Invitational in New York City, claiming the number-two spot all-time at Penn in the 1-mile run. Hatler clocked in at 4:00.50, which currently ranks 20th in the nation.

Freshman speedster Breanne Bygrave once again found herself at the top. Just one week after setting the new school record in the 60-meter hurdles, the rookie improved upon her time at 8.40 seconds, good for second-best in Ivy League history. Fellow rookie Mikayla Schneider also put together a record performance on the track, this time in the 800-meter run, finishing at 2:08.02, good for third in school history.

In what has become a common trend for the Quakers, the Red and Blue pole vault unit asserted their own dominance, led by Molly Minnig and Nicole Macco. The duo both lept to a height of 3.75 meters, placing Minnig at fourth all-time in Penn laurels. Freshman Maura Kimmel claimed first in the shot put with a distance of 14.28.

On the men's side, Calvary Rogers took home first place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.82, while Billy Bishop claimed second in the shot put with a distance of 16.59 meters, good for seventh in the Penn record books.

The Quakers return to action a week from now, competing yet again at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island for the FasTrack National Invite beginning on Friday, Feb. 10.
