PHILADELPHIA -- Senior wide receiver has been named one of 25 finalists for the STATS FCS Walter Payton Award which is presented each year to the Most Outstanding Player in FCS Football.
A finalist for the second year in a row, Watson recently put the finishing touches on the finest career by a wide receiver in Penn Football history.
The first player in Ivy League history with three career 1,000-yard seasons, Watson's senior campaign saw him catch passes from three different quarterbacks on his way to leading the Quakers in receptions (81) and receiving yards (1,083) while setting a new Penn single-season record with 14 receiving touchdowns.
One of just four wide receivers among the 25 finalists, Watson has climbed the Penn, Ivy League and FCS record books during his final season.
