PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team has won three in a row, giving the Quakers momentum heading into their Ivy League opener on Saturday. The first test might be arguably the toughest, as Penn travels to play archrival Princeton and the No. 2 pick in the Ivy League Preseason Poll. Additionally, the two teams have combined to win the past seven Ancient Eight titles.

In a series that dates back to the 1974-75 season, Penn is 25-53 all-time against the Tigers. The two teams have dominated the Ivy League and have combined to win the past seven conference titles, and Penn currently holds a two-game win streak over the Tigers, claiming both contests in 2016. The victories have come via a close margin however, by a combined total of just four points.
Princeton - Quick Snapshot
*The Tigers bring a 6-7 record into Saturday's contest and currently rank No. 196 in the latest RPI standings and seventh in the Ivy League following their non-conference slate. After starting the season 0-4, the Tigers have rebounded by going 6-3 over their last nine contests.
*Freshman Bella Alarie leads the team, averaging 11.6 points per game as the only Tiger averaging double-digits on the season. On the national scene, Princeton comes in at No. 6 in three-point FG defense (24.4) and No. 14 in rebounds per game (45.0). The Tigers currently sit in seventh in the conference standings.
Last Time Out
The Quakers made it an undefeated trip to the "Golden State" with a 47-36 win over CSU Northridge and a 71-55 triumph at UC Riverside to improve to 6-4 on the season. The storyline of the SoCal trip was the emergence of the Quaker bench, who combined for 54% of team scoring in both contests, notching 64 of 118 of the team point totals.
Senior Sydney Stipanovich continued her dominance in both matchup's and registered her fifth and sixth double-doubles of the season and the 33rd and 34th of her career to come in at No. 2 all-time at Penn in the category. The reigning Ivy League Defensive and Player of the Year is currently averaging a double-double on the season, providing 12.2ppg and 10.5rpg.

Following Saturday's contest, the Quakers return home to the friendly confines of The Palestra for the first time in over a month on Jan. 13th when they host Yale at 5:30 p.m. The Red and Blue have played five of their last six on the road.
