The Ivy League honors student-athletes with Academic All-Ivy status three times a year. To be eligible for the award, the students must be either starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Each institution nominates five men and five women from its eligible student-athletes at the end of the fall, winter and spring seasons.
